you guys see the jets game yesterday? it was going so bad, the jets replaced mark sanchez with third string quarterback greg mcelroy, who led the team to win its fifth win. on facebook where people will post an image of an inspiring quote on their wall for everyone to see. the quote is like someone famous or like an actor, a politician, or a historical figure. i love reading them but sometimes i'll read one and think, did they really say that? and it can be hard to tell. no one checks these quotes to see if they're real or not. i'll show you guys what i'm talking about in this next segment called "don't quote me." ♪ don't quote me cause i'm ♪ >> jimmy: this first quote is from gandhi. he's a famous 20th century indian peace keeper. he said, "hate the sin, love the sinner." sounds like something he'd say. here's another one from gandhi. it says, "hate the game, not the playa, #nobodysbusiness." >> steve: really? >> jimmy: nobody's business. doesn't sound like something he would say. >> steve: it does not. >> jimmy: i could be wrong.

this? >> well, it's mario testino, and he's been trying to get my clothes off for ages and i felt really rude saying no. so i thought they'd better come off. >> jimmy: oh, he's one of the best. you can't beat mario testino. >> yes. if you're going to do a seminude photo shoot, you might as well do it with him. >> jimmy: that's what i've been saying for years, and he's never called me back. >> really? i'm sure he'd love to. >> jimmy: it's so ridiculous. i know. but this is all for your movie. you're getting critical acclaim yet again. i love it. "anna karenina." >> yes. >> jimmy: this is a major, big role. this is a giant thing to take on. and it's you and joe wright again. >> yes. >> jimmy: gosh, i love joe wright. >> i love joe wright too. >> jimmy: when you guys get together you make great, great movies. >> it is very -- it was very exciting. it's the third film that we've made together. and it's -- it was definitely a challenge. and he's sort of done it in this incredibly theatrical kind of extraordinary way. so it was rather terrifying. >> jimmy: it's a tolstoy novel, the guy who did "war and peace." >> yes. it doesn't get much better or bigger, really, than that. it's kind of like this big -- >> jimmy: some say it's the finest novel ever written. >> faulkner, i think said that it was the greatest novel ever written. which adds a certain amount of pressure. >> jimmy: no pressure there, exactly. >> oh, it will be fine.

>> jimmy: but also when you see this movie, what's so spectacular is what's happening, besides the acting, behind you there's things swinging and moving and -- >> yeah. it's a very -- it's kind of -- he wanted to create something that was like a ballet with words. so, there's a lot of dancing, and there is a lot of theatricality in it, and it's hopefully extraordinary. >> jimmy: yeah, and it must be tough to act like that when you have to do your lines and scenes while someone is -- swinging -- >> it was very much -- you spin into place and you have to time this teardrop to drop there as the camera's spinning in place as well. so, it was technically kind of quite interesting. >> jimmy: you had to time your teardrop? >> i did. did you know, and i managed it. we did 14 takes and i managed to get a teardrop to drop every single time, on the 15th take, the teardrop didn't do it and he's like, perfect. you could have just told me you didn't want the teardrop. >> jimmy: don't mess with me, buddy. >> that's fine. >> jimmy: exactly. and you actually, i read in some interview, you actually said after some scenes, because it's such a deep character, you actually, you and joe said, like, i hate her. >> yes.
